Happy #FeelGoodFriday all!

This week is worth celebrating for me! Not only is it Global Entrepreneurs Week #GEW, but on Monday was my first day to officially take on Laura Felicity Design as a full time career.

Over the past six months I have been focusing and working hard to make sure I was in a place to take my business to the next level, which was one if my goals for 2014.

Finally with 2015 nearly on the horizon, I have done it! And now I face the challenge to keep my business growing and striving on its own.  It's time for a new beginning!

It's been a really tough year work wise juggling two jobs, as I am one of those people who will put 100% effort into everything that is set for me.  This means not only did I put my all into #LFD, but the part-time supporting job as well.

However I knew it was something I had to do to enable myself to start my new venture.

Looking back I'm glad I have done it this way, and I realise how much I have learned from both! Taking this journey has also enabled me to focus and follow my current aspirations...and I already know it was all worth it!

For those of you who are seeking their new beginning, keep pushing, it really will be worth it when it arrives!

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday and wonderful weekend everyone!

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

It's been a couple of weeks since my last entry, but don't worry #FGF is here again to make you smile at the end of this working week.

It's been a very busy time at LFD HQ, which is why the lack of entries, but I'm now back on track and raring to go for the Christmas Countdown!

This week my #FeelGoodFriday is all about choice, chance and change, aka the 3 C's.

There are times in our lives where we can get to a cross road, and I believe it's a way of the world subtly letting you know that if you want to change the direction you are going in, you can.

I also believe we can create our own cross roads by making ultimate decisions ourselves, enabling our lives to go down a different path when we choose.

The majority of us are very fortunate that we have the freedom to make these changes and implement them as well.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

In both August and September I had significant events that occurred for me to have the chance to change my path, and nearly three months down the line the new change is in place and I'm very excited to where it will lead me!  It was a choice I made initially and then decided to chance it!

What choices and chances are you taking to make a change? Maybe it's time to implement them and go for it!

Have a fabulous Friday and wonderful weekend!

Happy #FeelGoodFriday!

Following on from my #FGF posts over the last two weeks, I stumbled across this week's inspiration, which shows you can achieve anything, even if it seems impossible.

Meet the wonderful Paper Artist, Peter Callesen, who transforms a single sheet of everyday paper into  a unique piece of art.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

Yes what you are seeing is real! Simply stunning isn't it!
But I can hear you saying 'That seems impossible'.  Well, it isn't!
It shows with clever and strategic planning and thinking outside the box, your mind can work in ways that you thought would never be possible.

So set your determination even higher, hone in on your focus towards your goals and imagine what you can achieve.

If someone is clever enough to sculpt intricate, beautiful structures out of a single piece of paper, imagine what you can do when you put your mind to it.

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday everyone and wonderful weekend!

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!
How are we all? Getting used to the dark mornings and evenings yet? Soon the clocks go forward a we officially enter into the Festive Season.

But with the Autumnal days leading into Winter very soon (I can already feel it coming), it should make us more determined to channel our focus towards the light at the end of the tunnel...even if it's towards the Spring/Summer 2015!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

What have we got to lose? If we focus our minds to determine what our next goals are, time will whizz by and before you know it lovely warm weather will be with us again!...Hooray!
...plus we will be a step further towards making our goals a reality!

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday and wonderful weekend everyone!

Friday 10th October 2014

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

Wow! It really is feeling like Autumn isn't it! What with the days being a little chillier and crisp, as well as the evenings drawing darker earlier...soon we will all be thinking of Christmas...eeek! Why has that come around so quickly?

As October has hit us quicker than we could ever imagine, we are officially in our final quarter of 2014! You know what that means, it's time to reflect on our yearly goals and see whether we have succeeded.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

I think the #FeelGoodFriday image this week is very fitting.  We all ponder on the 'what if's' for failure, but actually what if that decision you make turns out to be the best you've ever made to get to the next stepping stone in your life; whether it be business or personal!

So, let's reflect! Have you taken enough risks this year to push the goals and dreams and turn them into positive actions?
This weekend try and think about this and see what you have achieved! I think you'll be surprised at how far you you have come.

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday and wonderful weekend!

Well happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!
I hope your week has been full of productivity and you are now getting ready to see in the weekend!

A few weeks ago whilst having a day spent in London, the boyfriend and I were on the Tube when we came across who I would say, is the happiest man on Earth!
He was completely the opposite to how the stereotypical commuter into London is; quiet, in their own mind, no eye contact...you get the idea.

Instead he comes onto our carriage and starts making conversation with people, much to people's disbelief! Which as you know if you're a regular commuter, talking to strangers and being nice on the Tube is unheard of.

Then he kindly asks everyone in the carriage if we would mind if he plays music through his speakers.
No one said anything against it, so away he goes saying he will play a song that he knows will make people smile.

There are two song choices he has to put people in a good mood, one being Black Eyed Peas 'Where is
the Love?', but on this occasion he decided to play this...

It was brilliant, he's singing, doing some air guitar; really not caring about who's watching.
Funnily enough this guy got off at the same stop as the two of us, and we found out he hates traveling due to how mundane everyone is.
Then off he goes with his music and singing echoing in the tunnels all the way to the exit.

It was really  refreshing to meet someone like this, and honestly he really did put a smile on my face, even for that time if traveling!

He strikes me to be that someone who seems to love each day as if it's his last, and doesn't care about people's opinions on what he does.

Why can't we all be a little bit more like this happy stranger!

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday everyone and a wonderful weekend!

Happy #FeelGoodFriday!

Sometimes I feel with all this rushing around and constant routine of all work and hardly any play at the moment (that's certainly how I feel, even with building in 'me time'), all we need to energise and cheer us up is a good old fashioned hug...no matter how resistant we are!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

This week's #FeelGoodFriday I came across this wonderful clip about love and friendship from these fabulous creatures who are stereotypically known for being 'enemies'.  Even though we may resist having some affection in our lives at times...in the end we give in, and it's the best feeling when you do!

This is adorable, and I do love a good bear hug!

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday everyone and wonderful weekend - make sure you give someone that extra hug, as they and you may just need one!

Friday 19th September 2014
Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

Since the Summer (unofficially) has come to and end, the month of September has been going at lightening speed for me.
As mentioned last week on my #FeelGoodFriday post, there is a lot of change happening over at LFD HQ, which makes the days very exciting...but also very busy.

For the past few weeks I've found my days are jam packed with jobs to do.  However I'm not taking the time to enjoy these tasks or processes, but simply focusing on getting it done to move onto the next.

This of course is very draining, but also causes more stress!

So, I have taken it upon myself to slow it down a little and enjoy the weeks I am working (even if it is currently 6-7 days...painful!), as I need my motivation and energy to see me through until Christmas!

Slowing down makes you realise how much we do in a day when we are in full swing, but are we building in time to simply relax and switch off?  I know at the moment I'm not.  I am trying my best to change this, as I don't want the time to disappear and then when reflecting I've not done anything but work!

...and I'm taking action this weekend by visiting London Design Festival on Saturday! A great change to walk around and gather inspiration, as well as relax and enjoy travelling around London.  Bliss!

What are you going to do this weekend to relax?
...Try and make sure you don't work too hard.

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday and wonderful weekend everyone!
...and remember to smile!

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!
How has your working week been?

This week has been the start of the final quarter to achieving my 2014 goals, and for the next coming month's actions to be put into place. Exciting!

During the past two months there has been a lot of work behind the scenes at Laura Felicity Design, putting implements in place towards taking the next steps for growing the business to a level where it is starting to become a known brand.

The months of working throughout the Summer are now slowly starting to take shape, and I can not wait for the New Year to arrive!
...Slowly the goals are in sight!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

Stay tuned with the Laura Felicity Design Blog to find out what great ventures are starting to be revealed, as well as my Social Media feeds; FacebookTwitter, and Google +!

How are your 2014 plans coming about? I hope they are now starting to take shape and you are working harder than before to make those goals a reality.

It's time to keep postive and drive through the next coming months!
We can do it!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday
...and remember to smile - 'If you can't stop thinking about it, don't stop working for it!'

Friday 5th August 2014
It's #FeelGoodFriday!
Wow what a week it's been! It feels like Summer is officially over as children returned back to school this week, and everyone is back to work with full steam ahead.

The next few months for Laura Felicity Design are going to be a whirl wind of events all coming together to make the business officially go full time, (look out for my social media and blog posts for more details!).
Therefore the small chances I will get just to wind down, enjoy a day off or two and even enjoying the small moments are going to be gold dust to me!

What more reason to enjoy every moment we can get to take the opportunity to smile.
...a lot like this commute to work people experienced on the New York Subway! (If you're a Disney fan-Lion King specifically, you'll love this!)

Ahh how great would it be if this happened to you!  It really would make you smile and gear you up positively for the day!

I believe life would be fabulous as a musical! (What's not to love about that?)

Have a wonderful weekend and fabulous #FeelGoodFriday everyone, and make every moment you get a positive one.

Friday 29th August 2014

Happy #FeelGoodFriday all! Have you had a good (short) working week?
I'm up in Edinburgh at the moment celebrating my cousin's 21st Birthday, so the weekend has already begun for me!

For those who are working today, and perhaps over the weekend, this week's #FeelGoodFriday post is bound to cheer you up.
...especially if you're a animal lover!

I have to admit I've attempted to do yoga and even toning exercises in the house with my dogs around...epic fail! Let's say that doesn't really happen anymore...and the above video is why!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/
This image is of course not me...it was found on Pinterest

You have to love them though, they really are characters who make us smile!

Have a great weekend everyone, give an extra hug to your lovely pet too...they are fab!

Friday 22nd August 2014

Happy #FeelGoodFriday all!
How's this working week been for everyone?

Most of us have taken some time off this month due to the Summer Holidays, and I have been no exception.

I have been fortunate enough to take two weeks off, the first in two and half years, which is exactly what I needed to restore my work enthusiasm.
Personally even if you love your job, you still need to break to unwind and relax your mind, body, and soul, and take time out to feel inspired again.

However a week in and work is back in full swing! And I'm loving it. It's great to be back in the saddle, with full steam ahead.

This week's #FeelGoodFriday is a dedication to my job and to everyone else who is fortunate enough to be in work they enjoy doing.

Being away from the company for two weeks and then coming back with a fresh head makes me realise how much I love doing this as my chosen career path, and how much I look forward to the next few years ahead.

There is a lot going on over the next six months to make Laura Felicity Design a full time business, and I couldn't be more excited!

It is finally time to break the chain, and take a step into the unknown/uncertainty that is freelance!
It's a very pivotal time for Laura a Felicity Design, and I can't wait to share the journey with you!

This weekend think about if your job makes you achieve great things...if it doesn't why not turn it around and go for something that makes you smile!

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday and wonderful weekend.

Friday 15th August 2014

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!
It's been my first week back after having a wonderful time off, and I'm feeling revived and raring to go again!
It was a lovely two weeks; the first few days were catching up on jobs I have pushed aside in the house, including the finishing touches of paint work and hanging of picture frames in the bedroom.  It's starting to come together now. (It's only taken me two years!)
Then for 10 days I went over to Marmaris, Turkey with the boyfriend to relax and unwind, as we've not had a reviving holiday in two and half years!

Now I'm back, feeling alive and ready to pick up where I left off with work.

This week's #FeelGoodFriday image reflects both sides of work and life for me.
I really do love work and the career I'm building for myself, and it's a part if my life I really can't live without.

That behind said, I've realised these past two weeks how important it is to just live! Doing jobs around the house, having a lie in, see friends and family, going on holiday to get away for a little bit, even taking time to read a book, are also equally important.
Without life, I wouldn't want to work, as in theory this is why I am striving in work; to achieve life goals!

What things do you stay close to that make you feel alive?
Have a think about it this weekend!

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday, and a wonderful weekend!

Friday 25th July 2014
Happy #FeelGoodFriday all!
Wow what a week it's been, full of positivity and powering on to achieve goals and dreams!

Carrying on from last week about believing in ourselves and being in the right mind frame to follow our path in life, I have been stumbling across positive messages around places wherever I go to support this!

Whilst out shopping for some new workout gear recently, I came across this top - and how could I not buy it!

It really is a great moto to think about whilst working out, but also when powering through the working week!

So far it seems to be working, as it has readjusted my mind set (especially when I'm wearing it) to think outside the box a little about why we are working and dreaming towards what we'd like to strive for in life.

It's all well and good wishing for something, but wishing doesn't necessarily mean getting!
...however if you work towards something, strive towards something, you are more likely to get there, and the wish has come true!

This weekend have a think about your WISHES in life and how you can go about WORKING towards them!

Have a lovely #FeelGoodFriday everyone, and I will be back in a few weeks time, as I am now officially off on a lovely two week holiday! Hooray!

Toodle Pip!

Friday 18th July 2014

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!
I hope this week has been productive for you all!

Over the past two months I have found little things in life come across your path to test you!

I believe you either take the bull by the horns (as it were) and go with the flow whilst enjoying the ride, or stumble at the hurdles and give up without giving it a try.

Personally I think life would be too boring if we all had perfect lives, everything set out for us without any goals to strive towards.

However, it can get difficult having little blips in our lives, and I'm sure at this point we would wish for things to be more simple if we could.

As mentioned earlier, the last couple of months have put me through some real tests in terms of who I am and where I am striving to be in my life and career...and guess what path I have chosen to follow! Yes, you've guessed it, the Path To Positivity! I am believing in myself to keep going for what I have set out to achieve.

It's thanks to a positive mind that keeps me going, but also a good support network.  It really is true you have to surround yourself with people who make you believe in what you can do, as well as believe in YOU!

This #FeelGoodFriday if you are having a tough time in your life, remember to keep your head held high and keep powering on, as soon you will walk away from the dark cloud and into the silver lining!
Believe in yourself!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and a happy #FeelGoodFriday!

Friday 11th July
Hello and happy #FeelGoodFriday!
How are we all this week? I hope the days leading to #FeelGoodFriday have been productive for you!

Whilst searching for this week's inspiration I found the image below, which made me think about the animals in our lives, and how much they make us laugh by the random things they do, or get up to.

Funnily enough, I was walking my dogs the other day, when a lovely elder lady stopped and said what a smile Bailey had on him!
Now most people (those who don't know him) can't look at Bailey for more than a few seconds without getting a little scared, for he is a cross of Bull Mastiff and Staffordshire Bull Terrier or as I like to call him, my BFG!  But honestly he's the biggest scaredy cat I have ever known!
...Plus it's true, he really does have a smile (especially when walking)!

For Christmas my brother got me a 'Dogs Who Smile' book, and it literally is a variety of dogs smiling! (can you sense he knows me a little too well!?)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dogs-Who-Smile-Happiest-Hounds/dp/0091947251/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1404315612&sr=1-1&keywords=dogs+who+smile
You need this book in your life, trust me, it really will make you smile, especially if you are a dog lover like myself!

What do your pets get up to that make you smile or roar with laughter? I'd love to see images in the comment box!

Have a wonderful #FeelGoodFriday everyone! Hooray!

Friday 4th July 2014

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone, and Independence Day to all my USA readers and followers!

Well, we are now half way through the year and I want to use this #FeelGoodFriday to focus our attention back to the beginning of 2014 and our outcomes/goals for this year in terms of business and life.

Are we still on track? Are there goals you need to change slightly? I must admit I have got a little side tracked in terms of where I am going, and recently I have been feeling it!

So, my goal this weekend is to re-evaluate the route I planned to go down at the beginning of 2014 and get back on track, as otherwise I will bumble along and not get anywhere!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

I think it's also really important to remember why we started a) these resolutions for 2014, and b) our goals and focus for the furture.

I guarantee when you remember these you will come over in warmth, and want to get up and go again.

So come on everyone, lets make the last few weeks leading to the Summer holidays count and visualise our success in achieving our 2014 and future goals!

Have a wonderful #FeelGoodFriday everyone. Think positive for the future, and don't forget to smile!

Friday 27th June 2014

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

Wow where have the weeks been disappearing too? We are nearly coming to the end of June, meaning we are more than half way through 2014!

Scary when you think how quickly this year has been going - I feel like it's been racing by at a very high speed indeed.

With how quickly time is passing us, I came across this wonderful quote via Pinterest and it really did make me stop and think!

We seem to always be chasing our goals, dreams, achievements, but do we stop and take in the small things which make Life what it actually is?

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

I had a wonderful weekend last week, what with having my first ever trip to Ascot, followed by a wondering day out and about in London Town with some lovely friends.

It really does make you realise that it's these little trips away from normal life that shows us we need to do things that make us smile - and most importantly not regret it!

This #FeelGoodFriday think about events in your life which have really made you smile, and why not plan something this weekend to take you away from the normal strains of life!

Remember Life really does go quickly...go and break some rules!

Friday 20th June

Happy #FeelGoodFriday!

This week is short and sweet because I just had to share this little clip with you!

I found this video on Sunday morning, and not only did it make me smile, it made me chuckle!
It really is adorable!

It reminds me to cherish the small things that make me smile, because you just can't beat them!

(make sure you click on 'post' to view!)
Right, I'm off to Ascot for the day...My weekend begins here!

Have a wonder #FeelGoodFriday everyone, and remember to embrace the little things in life that make you smile!

Friday 13th June

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

Wow what glorious sunshine we've been having this week, and the weekend just gone!

I don't know about you, but with a little warmth, a clear blue sky, and lighter days, I really feel happy and motivated to power on through the working week (so much more than during the winter period!)

With sunshine in mind, I think it's important to take these positive feelings and drive them into our lives even when the sun doesn't have it's hat on or doesn't want to come out to play.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

This weekend why not reflect on how good weather and warmth makes you feel, and how can you channel this positivity for times when you are going through 'dark days'.

I think it's great to always try and filter these emotions through and don't let them go, that way we can build to a happier and more smiley life style!

Have a fantastic #FeelGoodFriday everyone, may the sun shine in your life where ever you are today!

Friday 6th June

Happy #FeelGoodFriday one and all!  I hope it's been a great week for you!

Over the past week I have been to a couple meetings to listen to women talk about their businesses, and how they got into starting up, one of which was a talk from Cath Kidston herself.

Apart from Cath Kidston I have got to know the other ladies throughout the year, yet didn't really know much about their history and how it has influenced each of them to be doing a career that they love to do each day.

It's always intriguing and inspiring to hear someone else's story to how they have got to where they are now, to the extent it made me think about the road I have taken and why I have chosen my certain career path.

It also made me realise how important it is to be amongst people who make you feel inspired, and want to persue happiness within your working and personal life.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/

This #FeelGoodFriday why not reflect on who and what inspires you in you life, and how they have helped you get to where you are today!
Plus this weekend why not make sure you spend time with at least one person you find inspiring and motivating to get you energised for achieving your future goals!

Have a very happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

Friday 30th May 2014

Happy #FeelGoodfriday everyone!

Have we enjoyed our four day working week? The week goes that much quicker when we don't spend the Monday working!

Well now our Bank Holidays/long weekends have been put on hold for a while, we need to think of alternative approaches to make our weekends more fulfilling being back to the normal two days of rest.

I came across this little animation on my Facebook feed last week, and thought it was very fitting for this #FeelGoodfriday!

I think this would be a wonderful way to wind down on a Friday! Now all I have to do is perfect the yoga/wine routine itself!

Have a great #FeelGoodFriday and weekend everyone! Smile, it's friday!!

Namaste!

Friday 23rd May

Hello and Happy #FeelGoodFriday to you all!

We are entering our last Bank Holiday weekend until August, so I'm hoping you will be making the most of it!

This week I wanted to keep things simple, fun and return back to basics as to why I set up #FeelGoodFriday - which was finding images that made me smile, even if momentarily.

This #FeelGoodFriday's image I came across whilst in a lift after a meeting I had in London last week.  It refers to the amount of weight the lift can hold.  For the few brief minutes I had to myself, this really did make me giggle.
For me sometimes it's the simple things in life that really does make me smile!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicityuk/feelgoodfriday/
This lovely long weekend we have ahead of us, why not sit back and take in the small, simple things in life that can bring a smile to you, even if for a brief moment!

Have fabulous Bank Holiday and #FeelGoodFriday everyone!...enjoy the sunshine! (fingers crossed!)

Friday 16th May

Happy #FeelGoodFriday one and all! Hope you are all enjoying the wonderful sunshine we've been having!

For this week's #FeelGoodFriday I want to raise the subject of making others happy to make yourself feel good.
Lately within Laura Felicity Design I have been tested on my customer service, which is always good because I am always wanting to keep my clients happy with their purchase - whether this be bespoke wallpaper or a lavender bag.
I'm always wanting to be aware of how to keep my future clients happy as well as provide a good service clients would want to come back too.

The particular incident I had to handle was something I couldn't leave until I knew my client was 100% satisfied...and knowing they came away absolutely loving the resolved matter at hand, made me feel really good inside, something to definitely smile about!

So this #FeelGoodFriday I want you to think what did you do lately to make someone else Feel Good and smile?

If you can't remember, why not go out of your way this weekend to make someone's day! This can be simply being there for a friend who needs cheering up and a bit of a laugh, or even volunteering for your local charity and it's local events!

With this in mind, the Peace Hospice is having a Rainbow Run on Sunday 18th May in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire and are after volunteers to help out on the day, and people to cheer on the event!

http://www.peacehospice.co.uk/viewevent.asp?eventID=536

If you're based in Hertfordshire or near, why not show your support, raise a little money for charity and really make someone smile with the help you have provided for a truly magnificent charity!

It really will make you smile!

Have a wonderful #FeelGoodFriday all!

Friday 9th May
Happy #FeelGoodFriday one and all!
How are we recovering after our lovely long weekend last week?
I must admit I'm getting used to these Bank Holiday Weekends coming into play this year.
It's been great to have a day off pretty much every other week and share it with everyone else, plus enjoy the time we have for ourselves without work being on our minds.

That being said I have found having these wonderful days off have made me reflect even further how important it is to have time dedicated to ourselves and loved ones around us, plus how we go about our working lives to achieve this.

With my 2014 working moto still in the fore front of my mind (Work Smarter, Not Harder), I am beginning to realise how important our goals are for the future, and how we go about achieving them through the simple strategy of the stepping stone process.

This can be work related, but also for our personal life too.  I've worked out I've not had a holiday away to relax or travel in over three years, as I have been working hard to get the Laura Felicity Design business off the ground.

Whilst starting up the business I have forgotten that I need to pencil in my holiday time and a days off.  However, have no fear, the recent Bank Holidays have really made me focus on this.
I am now seeing the more time we have to enjoy ourselves, the more reflective this will be in our performance to work and strive towards our outcomes, goals and dreams we have for our lives.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

This weekend why not reflect on what goals you have in place to make you happy and smile.  If you can't think of anything, why not start now and make these dreams come true!
Positive thinking is the way forward to a happy, smiley life!

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone, and enjoy the weekend.

Friday 2nd May
Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone, and hooray we are entering another Bank Holiday Weekend!

This week has been an odd one for me, I have been almost too excited to have the weekend come my way before the week is over - I think I'm getting used to having a four day working week every other week! ;-)

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/
In all seriousness, I think the approach in how I have been reviewing the way I work, i.e. 'Work Smarter, Not Harder' and creating a calender to-do list rather than a long list of to-do's, has enabled me to now focus on the days off I have scheduled in and what I can do with the 'me time' in my life.

This weekend I'm taking full advantage of this, by heading over to Leicestershire for a wonderful wedding where my lovely creative friend Lorna Syson is tying the knot!  Then heading over to Birmingham to spend some time with family.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

I'm really looking forward to it, and has made me think it really is the little things in life to spur your creativity and drive towards the goals you are wanting to achieve.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

So this three day weekend, why not get out of the house and do something that makes you smile and feel happy! It dooesn't have to be anything extreme or expensive, just enough to make you feel relaxed and ready to start the working week with energy on Tuesday!

Have a wonderful #FeelGoodFriday everyone.  Enjoy!

Friday 25th April
Happy #FeelGoodFriday all!
How's your four day week been? Feeling resfreshed after the lovely long Bank Holiday Weekend?

That being said, Tuesday can around far too quickly and it's been a full on week, but a good and testing one (luckily I'm feeling refreshed and revived after the long weekend).

Last night I took part in an event which consisted with me presenting a 7 minute showcase, which really did take me out of my comfort zone.

For me, I can have a conversation with anyone about Laura Felicity Design until the cows come home.  However, have me standing in front of an audience, being timed (that get's me every time!) with people watching you talk, does make me feel quite uneasy.

I'm a little bit like Chandler from 'Friends', when he tries to smile for his enagement photo with Monica.  Naturally he can smile to anyone, but take him away from his comfort zone and put a camera in front of his face and he seizes up...

I mean, I wasn't as bad as him!

However, that being said, I ended up really enjoying doing the presentation!

I also realised how important it is to take on opportunities that really do take you away from what you know, and how it can make your confidence grow.

Don't get me wrong nerves were high as I was doing the talk, and the slideshow I prepared did go wrong (can't trust technology when you need it to perform!), which made me lose my trail of presenting a little bit (that's why my cue notes came in very handy!).
But that being said, for my first ever presentation about Laura Felicity Design to an audience of influential business women, I think it went well!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

So for this week's #FeelGoodFriday I want you to try something that really does take you away from your comfort zone, in either work or personal life.

This could be in the form making the first initial point of call with a business contact you've been putting off because of the fear of 'cold calling'.
Or spending the afternoon in the kitchen trying to bake a yummy souffle, because baking really isn't your strong point (being a science and all!)

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

Whatever you choose to do and overcome, trust me the feeling of being there living through that type of uneasiness really is overwhelming and a fabulous experience.  You really will come out on the other side feeling happy and inspired by what you have achieved.

Have a wonderful #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

Friday 18th April

Happy #FeelGoodFriday and Good Friday everyone!

Welcome to our first long Bank Holiday of 2014.  What are you up to this Easter Bank Holiday Weekend?

Taking a trip away? Seeing friends and family? Or taking advantage to do some good Spring sprucing around the garden and home? (Remember I am currently holding a Spring Clean SALE at the moment.)

Whatever you're up to, why not get creative and decorate your living space with eggs galore.

I have found these wonderful DIY decorations with a twist, to keep Easter looking fresh and minimal.  I love these ideas!

And of course Easter wouldn't be the same with without a lovely Easter Bunny!

Have a wonderful #FeelGoodFriday and Easter Weekend, enjoy the four days off!

Friday 11th April

Hooray!! It's finally #FeelGoodFriday!

This week has really felt like Spring for me, what with schools breaking up (meaning the boyfriend is around a lot more during the day, which is lovely!), the days being brighter for longer, plus the lovely and crisp Spring weather we've been experiencing.
It's actually made me revise the way I have been structuring my working days...new change is on the horizon!

As you may remember at the beginning of 2014 I set myself a moto, rather than a resolution, 'Work Smarter, Not Harder'.  Well it may have well been a resolution, because to keep to this way of working, has proven to be really hard!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

I have made some changes, i.e. the 'To Do' List Calender I mentioned on the blog last week, which has really worked for me four months in, as it's a chance to check each month what has progressed in the time I've given myself, what I have to push forward and/or put on hold, but most importantly it has enabled me to analyse the route my business is starting to head towards.

However one big factor I forget to pencil in is time for myself (i.e. Annual Leave!) I do still forget to schedule in my 'life' side of things to balance everything work wise out.

I must admit of late I have been working harder and not smarter at all, and have started to feel fairly run down, with not a lot of energy.  Which is why Easter couldn't have come at a better time for me and why this week especially has been a turning point in terms of the way I am working.

That being said, Easter is a time for new life and new beginnings, also a great time to reflect!
Why not have a think on this #FeelGoodFriday about the resolutions you set yourself at the beginning of 2014, and question whether they are still in place and most importantly working.

If not, get back on the track of making life happier and healthier for both your mind and body!

It does help by looking at something cute too...so enough of me this week, and I shall leave you with a couple of cute images, that are sure to make you smile and feel Spring like!

Friday 4th April

Happy #FeelGoodFriday all!

This week I've had a couple of celebrations for business and personal!

Tuesday 1st April saw in Laura Felicity Design's 4th Birthday! I can't believe my business has now gone into its fourth year, it feels like a huge accomplishment, especially within this last year!

Today is my youngest brother's 21st Birthday! My little bro is all grown up, and I honestly can't get my head around it!

With both of these being in the fore front of my mind this week, I've been reflecting on where I am today, how I got here, and what else is changing around me.

It's a great way to think of the things I have achieved in the time I've been in business (both in personal and business life), but also an eye opener of the things I really want to aim towards.

Rather than writing a 'To Do' List, which I find very overwhelming, I'm now trying to pencil in dates of goals and events before time gets the better of me and it's another four years down the line.

It's honestly a great feeling when carrying out this type of plan because a) it gets me excited for future events and something to aim towards, but more importantly b) it means everything is not all done at once-which I know (now) isn't achievable!

How do you reflect on celebrations? Does it make you excited for the future?

Bear this thought in mind whilst enjoying and feeling good this Friday!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone, and if your celebrating this coming weekend for any reason, enjoy it even more!

Friday 28th March

Hooray it's #FeelGoodFriday time! How are we all this week?
...I don't know about you, but for me this week has flown by - obvious signs I'm having fun! :-)

This week's #FeelGoodFriday has an eerie connection to what I got up to this week - which was not intentional at all, due to these #FeelGoodFriday image being found last month!

Yesterday I hosted a team building workshop for 26 of Fairtrade's staff.  They are currently celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight, which can be read about on their website.

Their workshop consisted of creating lino stamp designs to reflect how the staff have found the Fairtrade Fortnight and what it means to them.

Each stamp was designed, cut out and them printed onto A1 sheets of card to form an overall image of the Fairtrade Logo.

Images are up on my Facebook and Google+ sites, co please do have a look at what they got up to!

Anyway, this weekend being Mother's Day I wanted to find an image to inspire families to think of creative ways on how to celebrate this occasion.

Rather than buying a card or present - why not create one!  It's also a great way to involve the kids getting them to use their imagination in terms of thinking outside the box when it comes to gifts...and it keeps them entertained, if only for a few hours!

Why not have a go at different printing techniques this weekend, using anything you can find with texture...i'm sure all of us have a celery or two lying around!

It's such a fun way to spend time with the family!
....plus it's always a great excuse to get messy, if only for a short while!

I hope all the mums who read this have a very Happy Mother's Day, and get spoiled rotten, as I know you truly deserve it!

Until next week, have a very happy and smiley Friday!

Friday 21st March

Happy Friday one and all!

Are we feeling like it's #FeelGoodFriday yet?

Yesterday it was officially the first day of Spring and it was also the official #InternationDayofHappiness, how did you spend you Happy day?  I spent it on the road travelling...not such a happy day.

So today I am going to make this my #InternationalDayofHappiness as we enter this lovely new season, and decided to devote my #FeelGoodFriday to both!

Even though it is officially Spring, the weather at the moment tells a different story.  I think part of me still thinks it's Winter, what with the wind and cold we've had over the past week!

However this print I came across on Pinterest put a smile on my face and excited me for the warm weather we are soon to (hopefully) see.

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

With the Spring weather being a little dull (apart from today!), for now why not bring a little bit of that Spring feeling into your home!

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

This weekend go out and purchase a bouquet of beautiful flowers to brighten up your home as well as bring a happy, warm feeling within!

P.s How's your #100happydays coming along? I'm a quarter of the way there-find out what makes me happy, check out my Instagram page.

Have a wonderful #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

May the sun shine for you wherever you are this weekend.

Saturday 15th March

Wow! Where has this week gone?! I had to be reminded by my lovely Aunty that I hadn't posted my #FeelGoodFriday this week! So this week again is another #SmileySaturday instead.

This week's post was all geared up around the 'Spring Chicken' theme, given the glorious weather we've been having this past week and how everyone is finding it easier to wake up in the morning as it's not pitch black when we awake.
We have been out and about with smiles on our faces, wondering around in our Spring clothing (the boyfriend is wearing shorts in March!), and getting ready for the Summer months ahead.

However the weather has taken a bit of a turn (again) and even though the days are lighter (hooray!), it really was lovely to feel the heat and sunshine on your face and have less layers to pile on when getting ready in the morning.

I think we are all wanting the sunshine to come round sooner rather than later and get rid of the horrible dreary weather we've been experiencing!

That being said, Spring is literally round the corner and us Spring Chickens will soon shed those layers and embrace the fabulous weather.
Bring on the Spring!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Enjoy and smile!

Friday 7th March

Woo hoo! It's #FeelGoodFriday!
I hope you've had a lovely week, especially with this wonderful Spring like weather we've been experiencing, and have coming up over the weekend too!

Carrying on from last week's #FeelGoodFriday where words were the inspiration towards our postive working week I stumbled across this great article of quotes by 12 Comedians (thanks to the wonder boyfriend!) to keep our spirits and drive high as we power through the first quarter of the year.

This article isn't funny as you would expect being taken from a range of comedians.  However it still will make you smile, power through the final day to our working week, and prepare us for the sunny weekend ahead!

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday!

Friday 28th February 2014

Happy #FeelGoodFriday!

Keeping it short and sweet, plus carrying on with the positive flow from last week, I have found a #FeelGoodFriday post that I think spurs on our Feel Good Factor for seeing in another new month! (wow 3 months in to 2014!)

It's always a great feeling to have some form of inspiration when you need that extra boost to get you through the working week.

I find being surrounded by words, sayings and motos are a great inspirational drive to keep the motivation throughout the week running high.

Are you inspired in the same way as me? If you are, why not have a look at my Pinterest Board 'Wonderful Words', which is full of fabulous sayings to perk you up when you have that low point in you day.

...Take a look and make it a #FeelGoodFriday!

Saturday 22nd February
#Smiley Saturday

I don't know about you, but the excitement about New Year Resolutions has slowly started to wind down, and realisation of how long to these resolutions will take to change your life for the better are taking a little longer than hoped.

That's why I'm not always keen to take part in the resolution side of things.

Even having a moto for the year like mine 'work smarter, not harder', still at times can be hard to remember and stick to.

With New Year being just over 50 days ago, no wonder we are feeling a little deflated; we are in between winter and spring, we aren't quite there yet to get excited for summer, even summer holidays...and the next bank holiday weekend is still a little too far away!

That being said we need to try and pick up the positive vibe...and it starts today!

I have decided to take a 'happiness' challenge to get through this reality period and it was my #FeelGoodFriday/#Smiley Saturday image of the week that inspired it...

It's true we all get a little frustrated and stress from time to time, but we should ask ourselves why!

I think one of the main reasons we aren't as happy as we should be is because we are living such busy and time consumed lives, we don't have time to sit back and enjoy the small things in life that makes us smile!

Cue the 100  Happy Days challenge!

100HappyDays.com is a site which is encouraging people to take this challenge by simply photographing one thing that has made you happy on that day, and share it with them and via social media.

Apparent 71% of use don't complete this challenge due to the excuse of not having enough time!

Wow!

Take a look at this site, and why not join me for this challenge to see if it really does make a difference about noticing the finer things in life.

I started yesterday-if you're  on Instagram, make sure you keep up with my #100happydays as this is where I'll be posting my piccys!

Let me know if you join and how it's going for you!

Keep smiling!

Friday 14th February 2014

Roses Are Red
Violets Are Blue
It's a Romantic #FeelGoodFriday
Especially For You

Love is all around us as we celebrate the most romantic day of the year! How will you be celebrating?

Are you ever the romantic who LOVES everything about Valentines Day, from Rom Coms, lovely presents, to getting swept off your feet with all sorts of surprises and made to feel extra special?

Or are you not a fan of over the top cheesy romance, but simply love the subtly of romantic gestures?

http://www.pinterest.com/laurafelicity1/feelgoodfriday/

I have always been one for subtle romance (the poor boyfriend, who loves to be romantic!) and I find the small gestures of love for me are the best way to express how you feel.
A lot like my #FeelGoodFriday image.  It's the simple gestures in life.

However you are spending your #FeelGoodFriday, remember it is all about LOVE today, so make sure you go that extra mile to remind people around you how much they mean to you.  It really will make you feel good inside and bring positivity to the end of the week...Promise!

Have a Lovable Friday everyone! x

p.s. remember my Valentines Day Special Offer Discount ends at midnight tonight - perfect if you're staying in during the big storm we have ahead of us (yet another one!!).

Friday 7th February 2014

We welcomed in a new month on Saturday - the month of Love!  So I have decided to dedicate my  #FeelGoodFriday posts for February to this!

Don't worry, it won't be all lovey dovey, remember it's Feel Good Friday, not Cheesy Friday.  However the posts will be something Love related, with a twist!

This week I'm focusing on combining our New Year's Resolutions and positivity with a phrase everyone hopes with happen to them...and why can't it!

With positivity being the way forward for 2014 in all aspects of life, why should your 'Happily Ever After' have to be restricted to love and marriage.  This weekend think how you can make this year the beginning of your Happy Ever After, and feed this into your goals and aspirations for 2014!

For me it's to keep working with my 2014 moto 'Work Smarter, not Harder' behind the scenes at Laura Felicity to make sure I make my dream of creating an ever growing company a success, which I also want to enjoy doing for the rest of my working days.

What do you want for your Happily Ever After?

Have a very happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone, and keep up the feel good feeling of being positive for 2014!

Friday 31st January

Wow! What a week.  I don't know about you but I'm so happy to be seeing in the end of the week, and am really in need of a #FeelGoodFriday.

This week has been the first time I feel the Winter Holidays are well and truly a long way behind us, and hard work plus increasing work load is in front of us.

However, that being said (and with January coming to an end! eeek!) I think it's really important to remember what our set goals and aims are for 2014.

I went to a really interesting meeting this week with other business women a like, where we were given a challenge to decide our three most important goals for the year.  Not only were goals set, we had to think realistically how we were going to achieve them.

One thing that came out of this activity for me was realising Time is one of the most important aspects when setting goals.

When we see in a New Year, we all expect change near enough immediately and we forget that these aims take time.
As we see February coming quickly round the corner I think this week's #FeelGoodFriday will give you an extra push to keep on going with the New Year goals you set yourself.

This poster was linked to my Facebook Page a couple of weeks ago, but I think it's a simple yet brilliant saying to create and keep up the inspiration as we see in a new month, so I really wanted to share it with you again.

I hope you all have a brilliant Friday, and remember to keep up the good work with making 2014 the year of change towards making our happiness goals for the future.

...and remember to smile, the hard work for another week is nearly over! Hooray!

Friday 24th January

Happy Friday everyone!

I can't believe we have nearly seen in the first month of the year already!
How has everyone been keeping up with their New Year Resolutions?

With this week (especially Monday just gone) deemed as the 'Blue Week' due to the January blues finally kicking in for most people, I wanted my Feel Good Friday post to lift people's spirits again and to keep up the momentum of positivity for 2014.

I think point 7) is particularly important, especially for Feel Good Friday!

Have a wonderful and smiley Friday everyone - and keep at those resolutions to make 2014 the best year yet!

Friday 17th January 2014

Happy Friday everyone!

It's been a funny week this week, due to Topdrawer Trade Show I took part in from sunday until Tuesday; it really does confuse your days.  But it was a great show, and I shall be sharing my highlights in next Tuesday's blog, so make sure you check that out.

For now I want to leave you with a Feel Good Friday song that is very popular at the moment, and really does make everyone smile - how can it not!

It was a great song to hear whilst traveling over to Earls Court to do the Trade Show each day, as it put me in a happy frame of mind and ready for the day ahead!

Enjoy the video - and do your happy dance if you feel the need!
Happy Feel Good Friday everyone. Enjoy the last working day of the week!

Friday 10th January 2014

Like most people I believe entering a new year is the perfect excuse to evaluate you life; personal and career, and adjust where necessary to get back onto the right track you set out to be on.

For me I aim to take a moto for my New Year's Resolution;

2013 for me was a lot of juggling and definitely over working, to which I have since realised didn't get me anywhere faster.

This year I aim to take a step back and literally not over work, but set up goals to work towards to achieve a growing business without feeling bogged down with tiredness or juggling.

So, here's to 2014 - a year of thinking smarter and more effectively!

Do you tend to re-evalaute when seeing in a New Year?
What about New Years Resolutions?

Let me know, I'd love to hear them.

Happy #FeelGoodFriday everyone!

Monday 9th December 2013

Today I wanted to dedicate my #FeelGoodFriday (even though it's Monday!) to a lovely young lady who recently left this world to be in a better and peaceful place.

Today I attended Natalie Ramirez Nino's funeral, who at the age of 27 passed away a couple of weeks ago.

I knew Natalie whilst growing up in secondary school, and even though I didn't get to see her often, the powers of Social Media made me feel closer to her than if we were to live without it.

Over the past few years Natalie wasn't very well and sadly two Sunday's ago, lost her battle whilst out with her family.

Natalie was always known for being strong, positive, courageous and always smiling! (To name but a few qualities).

Hearing the news about Natalie has really had an effect on the way I think about things.  Being only 27 myself, it's scary to think that in such a short amount of time of being on this Earth, it can be taken away from you just as quickly, and we haven't begun to start properly living our lives yet!

This tragedy has changed my perspective in life and I want to dedicate this change to Nat herself.  It's made me realise not to stress about the things you cannot control or change, but to really live life to the full, remain positive no matter what is thrown your way, really live each day as if it's your last, and keeping smiling...as these things is what Natalie did until the day we had to say goodbye!

RIP beautiful Angel.

Let's try and live each day to the full, because it's proven, life really is too short!
Have a great week everyone!

Friday 18th October 2013

Happy Friday everyone!
This week has been fabulous week for me as it has been my Birthday week and I also got to celebrate my brother and his fiance's Engagement Party over the weekend!

...And yes you heard me, I tend to celebrate my Birthday throughout the week, as it only happens once a year! :-)

So this #FeelGoodFriday is really a simple one - go and do something that makes you smile!

For me it's been about having friends, family and loved ones around me; eating, drinking and being merry!

We all get caught up sometimes in our working lives (I've definitely felt this in particular of late), but it's good to remember how much fun it is to step away from working life from time to time, finish that hour earlier on a Friday, and simply meet up with someone who you haven't seen in a while, or love to be around!

Go on - do it! It really is the best way to unwind!

Happy Friday everyone, enjoy being socialable...and SMILE! :-)

Friday 4th October

Hello Blog Readers!! How are you?

Well what can I say...this past month - in fact the whole of Summer, has been very full on at LF HQ in terms of developing new wallpaper designs (to be launched at the end of Oct!) and preparing for the Show of The Year during London Design Festival week.  I feel like I've not stopped!

But have no fear, I'm back to normal in terms of work routine, and you know what that means?!
....Yes #FeelGoodFriday can return back to it's regular once a Friday slot :-) Hooray!!

I'm not sure if you lovely readers are aware, but not only is it #FeelGoodFriday, invented to make you smile on these fabulous end of the working week days, bit it's also officially WORLD SMILE DAY!

(Own image - taken in Thorntons, Hertfordshire)

Double Whammy of smiles today then! :-)

And for this fabulous occasion, I've got something something that will not only make you smile, but will hopefully make you laugh too (even better!).

(Video from You Tube)

It's proven smiling (and laughing) really is contagious!

If anything, make sure you smile today - it really does make the working day go that much quicker!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Friday 13th September 2013

Well hello everyone and welcome to #FeelGoodFriday!!

I realise I've not done a FGF post for a few weeks, but it's been pretty manic behind the scenes at LF HQ lately!
Currently I'm preparing for London Design Festival, where I'll be exhibiting at Tent London, held at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane.

It's all go, go, go, with new wallpaper designs and screen printed fabrics (to purchase by the meter) about to be launched.  This week I've been putting together the finishing touches to everything, which takes the longest time, but I'm nearly there! Which is why this week my #FeelGoodFriday post is very fitting as to why I'm working extra overtime...it keeps me going and my spirits high!

These words were found on Pinterest

Tent London is open to Trade and Public, so why not come on over and get a sneak peek of my new collection! Plus come by on Sunday 22nd and get some fab discounts from the exhibitors!

Purchase a ticket here.

Until next Friday everyone! (Hooray it's the weekend :-) )

Friday 23rd August 2013
This week has been a crazy one! Things are slowly coming together for the Trade Show and I can't wait for products to be revealed and released!  It's only a matter of time!

For this week's #FeelGoodFriday I've steered away from animals you'll be pleased to know ;-)

Instead I've found something that I find really suits me and my days at this present time, because nothing is boring or mundane for me at the moment, it's all wild and go, go, go!

It's a crazy life being self employed, but someone has to do it ;-) and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Goodbye for two weeks bloggers as I'm on some well deserved Annual Leave next week!

Have a fabulous #FeelGoodFriday!!

Friday 16th August

I realise that last week was animal friendly, and I'm afraid this week is the same! This one you can blame on 'The Boyfriend' (mainly), and the fact that I think animals in general make us smile when they do such random things!

I'm a huge dog lover, and with two dogs of my own they do take up a big part of my day...and life.

With that in mind, over the Summer with the hot heat one of my dogs in particular, Bailey, became an avid lover of all things water.  To the extent we had to buy him a paddling pool for him to bathe in after walks.

 Bailey in action!

Then yesterday 'The Boyfriend' emailed me a You Tube clip of dogs who love water, and it's sad to say, but it really did make me giggle.

Have a watch of this clip, and I guarantee it will make you smile and brighten up your day, ready for the weekend!
I particularly love the small dog taking a running dive into the pool with some form of jacket on...hilarious!

Have a fabulous day everyone, and SMILE! :-)

Friday 9th August

This week has been a very active week for me.  With preparing for Tent London, which is just around the corner, along with making stock for the Hampstead Craft Fair (Saturday 17th August, 11-5pm Free Entry) plus promoting spaces for my workshops, I had a little time to read the newspaper-that being the Metro on my way into a couple of meetings in London Town.

Even so it was obviously meant to be, as I found my #FeelGoodFriday inspiration!

Everyone I'd like to introduce you to Skateboarding Mouse! (so cute!)

I came across this article and it really made me giggle.  A guy called Shane Willmott teaches his pet mice (and other rodents) to surf and skateboard at an very early age, and apparently the animals love it!

This can't be real can it?! Whether or not, it really made me smile :-)

How cute is that mouse with his tiny skateboard! #Adorable.

(yes the mouse is jumping through a ring of fire!)

It's just something a little random on this rainy Friday to make you smile!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Friday 2nd August

Wow! Where has this week gone! It feels like the weeks are speeding up at the moment, especially as I'm on count down for the Tent London Trade show next month!

Anyway...Happy Friday!!
For this week's #FeelGoodFriday I have gone back in time.
My Lovely Partner in Crime, aka 'The Boyfriend' forwarded me this article a while back about a Paris apartment that hasn't been touched in over 70 years, and I've been meaning share it with you!

The French actress come socialite Mrs De Florian who owned this apartment fled from Paris just before WWII broke out, and she never returned!

It's an absolutely stunning piece of history in terms of pictures plus unbelievable to look at.
Imagine that this hidden treasure was locked away from the outside world for all this time!

I can only imagine the life this lady led back in the 1930's and what a fabulous apartment to have lived in!

Have a look and read of this fascinating article!

I don't know about you, but I'm loving the antiques and the furniture!

Happy Friday everyone, have a fabulous day and weekend!

Hello and Happy Friday!

This week's #FeelGoodFriday was stumbled across when I was clearing out some old emails to 'lighten the inbox' as it were.

With schools breaking up for Summer, everyone (or so it feels!) is packing up to go on holiday, the sun is shining and everyone is starting to relax.  Today I present to you a story which seems very appropriate for the beginning of our Summer Holidays;

"When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the two pints of beer.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly, and the pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed again that it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up the rest of the space. He asked once more if the jar was full, and his students responded with a unanimous “yes.”

The professor then produced two pint glasses of beer from under the table and poured the contents of both into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the grains of sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - your family, children, health, friends and your favourite passions; things that, if everything else was lost and only they remained, would still make your life full.”

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff.

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “There is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.”

“Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children, take time to get medical checkups, take your partner out to dinner and play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the leaky tap. Take care of the golf balls first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities, because the rest is just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented.

The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem to be, that there’s always room for a couple of beers with a friend.”

Friday 21st June 2013

Woo Hoo Friday is here and today is officially the longest day of the summer.

Well I don't know about you, but I definitely don't feel like summer has even begun yet...even though it's just beginning!  Let's hope for a lovely late Indian Summer hey!

This week in keeping with the longest day, I was inspired by this day drawing to an end, and what a beautiful, perfect sunset we would all love to witness the start of this wonderful season (hopefully!).

Considering that may not happen, here are a few beautiful sunsets I witnessed when I travelled around Sri Lanka a year and a half ago.

Ahhh let us all dream and drift away for a few minutes! Bliss

Happy Friday all, and have a great, relaxing, and long evening!

Friday 14th June 2013

Happy Friday everyone!

As you may have read I've not been well lately, but am slowly on the mend, which is great because it means I can finally get back to blogging and trying to make everyone smile on a Friday :-)

Today in keeping with this week's blog and putting your health first (body and mind), I am dedicating this week's #FeelGoodFriday to all those who are jetting off for some well deserved sunshine, sand and relaxing!

With Summer not quite shinning upon us Brits yet, hopefully the imagery I have selected today can make you drift off to a happy place for just a few moments to help you relax, enjoy the day ahead, and remember the times when you didn't have a care in the world, just embracing the feeling of warm, soft sand under your feet!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone, and Happy Fathers Day to all Delightful Dads out there!

Smile! It's Friday, hooray! :-)

Friday 24th May 2013

Happy Friday everyone!

Did you know this week is Smile Week!

Well I think then this little blog post is exceptionally fitting for the end of the week and #FeelGoodFriday!

This week is short, sweet and down to the point, I wanted to find images that have used smiles in a clever way in aid of Smile Week.

 (All images are from Pinterest)

I love how creative people are to make objects have a personality, it really does make me smile.

Enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend everyone!

Friday 17th May 2013

Happy Friday everyone! Woo hoo the weekend is finally here!

Today and over the weekend I am commuting in to London for Craft Central's bi-annual Made In Clerkenwell selling show.  If you are around please come on by!

As London is literally on my backdoor step I take the tube to places quite regularly.

Recently amongst all the hustle and bustle of the London Underground I came across this little graffiti-ed adjustment on one of the TFL posters.

This really made me chuckle-and even though I'm not a Dr Who fan, I could still see the funny side...it's brilliant!

Where ever you are going to today and over the weekend, amongst all the rushing about why not try and take in the scenes around you to see the entertaining and funny side of things.

It's a great way to remember life isn't all about getting there on time or things being done NOW.  Plus (and most importantly) it makes you smile even for that one second.

Smile everyone, it's Friday! :-)

Friday 10th May 2013

Wow what a contrast today is from last Friday in terms of the weather!

Well never fear, Feel Good Friday is here, and this week I'm not treating you to just one thing that will surely make you smile, but 30!!

I stumbled across this little site thanks to a friend posting it up on Fcaebook, and I must admit we need these facts in our lives to cheer us up on this drab day!

Take a look and smile away!

Happy Friday everyone! Hip Hip Hooray!

Friday 3rd May 2013

Hooray! Spring is officially here as we enter May!

With the lovely and bright sunny mornings, lambs and calves sunning themselves in the fields, I can finally get away with wearing sandals...everyone seems happy at last.

As well as Spring finally entering our lives I have also been surrounded with baby fever!  Friends and family are having/have had babies, and now they are coming of age where their personalities are starting to shine through.

With us being fully grown (and mature?) adults, we do tend to make the most random noises and pull the most amazing faces just to entertain something so small and cute.  It does makes me wonder, what are the little ones actually thinking?

I think this sums it up for us really! :-)

Have fabulous Friday everyone and enjoy the Bank Holiday in the sun!

Friday 26th April 2013

Wow, I did not realise I missed a Feel Good Friday last week.  So sorry everyone! It just shows how much I have been in my own world trying to balance out the projects I have going on at the moment.

Anyway I will make up for it today.

This week's image sums up how I have been these past couple of weeks. I've literally had my head buried in my studio and anyone who disturbs me whilst I'm working pretty much gets this look...!  :-)

All will be back to normal soon.  Hooray!

Smile, it's Friday everyone.

Friday 12th April 2013

Hooray it's Friday!

The weeks are flying by at the moment - I have no idea where time is going.

With a lot going on in the world of Laura Felicity I needed something this week that just simply made me chuckle.
...and funnily enough this did it for me!

Everyone meet Bat Cat :-)

Even when our worlds are full of work and no time to think of anything else, we sometimes need something simple like Bat Cat to put a smile on our faces!

Happy Friday everyone!

Friday 5th April 2013

Happy Friday Everyone!

Can you believe we are all still waiting for the warm sun of Spring to arrive! Instead we are still faced with cold, bitter winds, layers of clothes, and not wanting to venture outside.

That said, I think these two cuties have the right idea!....Snuggle up to the one you love whilst the weather is still trying to make up it's mind as to what season it should be!

Have a great weekend and find someone to keep warm with :-)

Friday 29th March 2013

Happy Good Friday Everyone!

With Easter this weekend I wanted my #FeelGoodFriday post to be Easter related, but with a twist!

Instead of going typically cute with bunnies, chicks, lambs, babies dressed as cute Easter related things etc, anything adorable really, I wanted to go with something a little bit more humorous!

After searching for ideas I discovered these dressed up eggs. Fabulous!

These two I have added are particular favourites of mine - I love the bunny egg, with the additional fluffy tail and ear headpiece.

If you're having eggs this weekend, sweet or savoury, why not dress it up to make things a little more interesting! :-)

Have a fabulous Easter everyone!

Friday 22nd March 2013

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I am sharing with you a link I found on Facebook that people have been sharing around, and I think it sums up everything to why we follow our dreams to do/be what we want in life and for our career paths.

I especially love the phrase 'It is better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way.'

I found it a very powerful phrase that makes you wake up and think about which life you are.

Please take a few minutes to watch this video.

It will either make you smile and appreciate how fortunate you are that you are driving towards or are in a job you love, with money not being the reason as to why you do it!
Or make you realise that now it is time to make that change in your life if you have been in a particular frame of mind for some time!

(The gentleman speaking over this video is Alan Watts and he was a British philosopher.)

15th March 2013

Brrrrr! It's cold outside! Being in mid March I was half expecting Spring to be making an appreance with a bright blue sky, the sun shining and pretty daffodils poking their heads out of the ground.  But so far, no luck!

Instead I am still cold from the Winter weather, and now ready to step away from the Winter blues.

Oh well, it's lucky that the local coffee shop Harris + Hoole, provides yummy hot chocolate with pretty images made out of milk to entertain me (and warm me up!)

Bring on Spring time with its warm weather!

8th March 2013

With International Women's Day being celebrated today and Mother's Day this Sunday I wanted to devote my Feel Good Friday post to all the yummy mummys out there!

My mum has played a huge part in my life, being there for me with teenage troubles, boy troubles, friendship troubles etc, to going out and having a good old laugh in London town drinking cocktails, visits to the theatre (with a bottle of wine exhumed during the interval), and having a lovely natter over lunch.

My mum is very inspirational to me.  She has set an amazing example with her work and life ethic; she works hard, plays hard and enjoys herself even when tough times are thrown her way.

And even though I don't say it enough to her I really do appreciate everything she has ever done for me, and I love her more than words can describe!

To all the wonderful and inspiring mums who are with us today and who may be somewhere we can only imagine to be, these images are devoted to you and I hope they make you smile!

Happy International Women's Day and Mother's Day!

(both images found on the fabulous Pinterest)

1st March 2013
Happy Friday everyone! And Happy first day of the month! Where has the time gone since the beginning of 2013??
Anyway time aside I wanted to share with you this image I can across on Pinterest lately that sums up how I have been feeling over this cold Winter period we have been having!
...Yes sorry it is animal related again, but I can't help it, they are so cute!

This image really makes me want to snuggle up and enjoy being warm-which is something I really struggle with, and something the boyfriend knows only too much about! :-)
...And being warm naturally brings a smile to your face.

Who's looking forward to the warm Spring weather soon to come our way!?

22nd February 2013

This week with the weather starting to feel a little Spring-like (apart from the past two days!) I've been getting excited for the warm weather we (hopefully) have ahead of us, plus all the fun, laughter and good times we have with it.

This week's find reflects that feeling.  I came across this image in London's Time Out magazine recently, which just automatically made me giggle and reminded me of the Spring/Summer days where everyone has a bit more humour in their system, and show it through their pets...genius! :-)

Hehe, what do you think!?

15th February 2013
This weeks Feel Good Friday is inspired by Valentine's Day.

A while ago I can across these too cute for words images, which I think are fitting for the most romantic day of the year.

I love black and white photography in general as it can create romantic moods with ordinary settings, but what I think is extra lovely (and lovable) about this image is the colour coming through from an object that is the symbol of love and/or sharing which brings the photo to life, and gives it its quirkiness.

....plus it really makes you smile!

...and I couldn't resist, two images had to go up this week. They are just too cute!

8th February 2013
This week Feel Good Friday is inspired by my Monday morning walk with the dogs.

I came across this 'graffiti' on the pavement which instead of expressing every curse word under the sun to express their feelings or drawing a random tag that no one can make out, just said in plain simple terms 'I Love Life'!

How fabulous! It really made me smile (especially first thing on a Monday morning) and think we need more happy graffiti like this when we find ourselves looking at the ground, minding our own business as we are on our way somewhere, or with our head in the clouds think of all the things that have to be done right now, just to remind us life isn't that bad after all.

1st February 2013
To start off the first Feel Good Friday I want to introduce you to a photo I took in the Summer of my dog Bailey.  With these (still!) dark, rainy and cold mornings, I thought this will make people chuckle and dream of the Summer ahead!

I hope it brings a smile to your face...

Happt Friday!

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity
